The military folding knife comes from the founding period of the Solingen manufacturer Hartkopf. Knives of this type were manufactured by numerous Solingen penknife manufacturers in large numbers at the end of the 19th century, among others for the military all over the world. The artisan tradition of the late 19th century has been preserved to this day. All blades and functional parts are still forged by hand from stainless steel 1.4034 in Solingen.
